I just received a message from my STBX after 5 months of no contact. I’m scared. I’m too scared to read it.

So sorry that you're going through this. Do you have a friend who could read it for you and let you know if it's something good, bad or ugly? And how would you want to handle that? You could also just have them delete the message so you don't even have to know.

The person who wrote sticks & stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me was wrong. Prepare for the worst case scenario & hopefully it won't be that bad.

I read the massage together with a good friend of mine. It was a short massage. He wanted to know how I was doing. He asked me how I wanted to arrange everything that had to be arranged. And that he is moving to an appartement.
I know that the divorce is the only option. I know that he doesn’t want me anymore. I know that I cannot trust him ever again. But my heart hurts. I’m so tired.

He wanted to know how I was doing.

Don't even dignify the above with an answer. Don't reveal anything pertaining to your personal state. Treat the response like a business transaction. Discuss the arrangements with legal counsel first.

Hang in there. Not gonna lie, it will hurt for a while. But the more you're away from him, the better.

Sending hugs.
