Little M got a cold. Now I have a cold. And it's a royal pain in my nose.

It won't stop running. My ears are plugged, my eyes hurt, I have a headache and the sneezing is just so great at getting my bladder to release like someone blew up a dam!

Help!

I've taken Buckleys. Helped for an hour.

I keep reading to drink plenty of water but then I might as well plant my butt on the toilet all day...

Funny thing is if I go outside into the cold the nose stops running. Should I turn off the heat? It's electric heat so not the furnace. I've had a pot on the stove gently simmering water all day to give some humidity.

Would my netty pot help?

I'd rather have a non stop migraine and vomiting over this nose 👃 😫

DragnHeart…have you tested for Covid? I’ve had several friends who have sworn they just had colds…(they know what colds feel like!!!) and after I’ve bugged them enough, they tested to shut me up. All of them tested positive.

Mucinex will help.
Also add in some sort of antihistamines at bedtime. Nettipot will help at least for a short while. Definitely keep the water simmering. Use a humidifier next to your bed too.
Use good old Vicks on your chest and try some strong minty gum to help open things up too.

I got a cold from the Grand 3 weeks ago that turned into a sinus infection/bronchitis. I finally was able to stop the Mucinex yesterday. Tomorrow is my last day of abx. Thank God.

I did all the above stuff and slept as much as possible. I had the baby again this past weekend and don't know what the Monkey had but was definitely sick with high fevers and bad appetite. Wasn't snotty but my little man did not feel well at all. Praying 9 don't get it too.

Ugh, there definitely is something going around right now! I just came off a bad cold with sore neck, back, asthma and horrible sinus pain. Then my son got it!

Have you ever don’t Vicks vapor rub on your feet? It sounds weird, but one of my old (and she saw old in age too) coworkers told me of this trick. If you put the vapor rub on the arches of your feet where the veins are and cover them with socks before bed, the vapor rub absorbs into your bloodstream over night and helps with your nose and throat. I have done it several times over the years for myself and the kids and it does work! Hoping you feel better by the weekend!!

I don't know of I have an covid testing kids left but I'll check. What is the

When I went to the school Remembrance Day event all of the kids were coughing. I should have known we wouldn't escape it.

Little M even said she should have been wearing a mask at school so she didn't get sick.

Two of the kids and I had a doc appointment today, made way before any of us got sick. We went to the pharmacy and I didn't see Mucinex at all. I'll have to double check tomorrow.

DS now has it bad. Sneezing fits and coughing. Little M still has the cough and runny nose.

I have tried Vicks. Usually cover the kids as well.

My nose seems to have dried up (watch, now that I've written that down it will start running again...) but I have a bit of the cough and OMG that hurts.

I have no clue! Maybe tushnurse does??

I masked when in doctor offices and in general avoided being out infecting people when I was sickest. Common sense stuff?

My doctors office (multiple doctors in one building) and the local hospital both require masks upon entry. I was already wearing a mask as was Little M. Dd and Big d who aren't sick were given masks.

I assume that's the norm for all medical places now. Big D has to go for bloodwork and dd to the allergist so I assume we will need masks there as well.

I try not to go out when sick although this is the first time I've been this sick since having covid.

I feel like I'm in a fog. Constant pressure along my forehead. My eyes feel weird. But, dare I say it, I don't have sinus pain which is good because that will make me lose it.

Ya the fog is real. Hit post message then remembered something else i wanted to reply to.

Vicks on feet with socks. I can't wear socks to bed unless I am super cold. I've tried the vicks plus socks and sometime throughout the Night the socks come off.

I saw the doc today because of the hot flashes. They can melt ice I swear.

I also told him how I haven't had a cycle in 2 months. Seems to be every 2 months now or around there but I did have that 26 day period and for the life of me can't recall when that was. I know when I saw the urgent care doc he ordered an ultrasound and was worried about so much blood loss. I do have an ovarian cyst but that didn't appear to be the cause if going 26 damn days straight!

Three kids home from school today. Ds and little M were both up throughout the night coughing. Big D started with sneezing fits. No cough, yet. But I kept him home anyways.

Dd said her throat was getting sore but insisted on going to school because she has a literacy test today. If she's not better she's staying home tomorrow. This comes on quick and gets bad fast. Friday is a board holiday so no school.

I'm feeling better. Runny nose has stopped but still congested and the cough, when it comes is painful around the right side of my ribs. Also the green gunk is nasty! At least it's coming out. My nose is raw from all the blowing and probably from using paper towels so the kids could use the last of the facial tissue. I bought a 12 pack of tissue yesterday only to find the stash I put away the last time we went shopping. Figures, I need to make note of where I put stuff but at least now we have lots in the house lol

When I called the school they said there's no protocols for being sick.

Ds is asleep, little m is laying in bed and big d is curled up on the sofa watching a movie.

I trimmed his hair earlier and had him take a hot shower. He said it made him feel better.

I am certainly no nurse, but when you mentioned an extended cycle, then no cycle, and all the sweating, it makes me wonder about early menopause. I’m not sure about your age, but maybe you could mention that to your doctor.

Or, it could just be all the upheaval in your life over the last few years. Stress is just about the worst thing we can go through, I think. As far as diminishing our immunity.

WhatsRight

Yep that's why I made the appointment for myself in the first place. The hot flashes are crazy.

He's put me on meds to see how they help. I have leeway to up the dose over the next 4 weeks before I see him again.

The crazy cycle has been my entire life. One reason one doc said he didnt think I'd ever get pregnant. It wasn't abnormal for me to skip a month then have a 2 week period.

Then change to have 2 in one month and skip a month. So he's not worried about the every other month.

It's weird because i feel like I have my period every day, all the time. Constant period pain. Maybe a constant 2-3 pain level. Maybe that's the ovarian cyst at work.

Current Covid protocols is isolated for 5 days and mask for 5 more or until/if you test negative.
Masks are currently in my area if you want to. Most recent studies on masking show they don't do much to prevent spread or getting it. Was never a big believer in them, esp the plain old surgical mask. The N95 definitely protect but the others not really.

Hope your tribe starts feeling better soon Drgn. Sounds like you may have PCOS. Any thought on getting a hysterectomy to alleviate the issues.

I still see many people out with masks. And when at the doctor a woman said the N95 seem easier to breathe in. I think masks are good for kids in that I've caught mine sneezing/coughing Over their arm, not into it when they couldn't grab a kleenex in time. Probably how we All got sick.

I had thought about getting one just to be finally done with periods but was advised not to at the time, although I don't recall why. When I first started the pain was debilitating and the flow so heavy I was changing pads constantly or wearing the big overnight ones all the time. They aren't heavy like that anymore when I do have one and the pain is Meh.

I guess I'll see how these meds work for now. Just realized it says eat with them so I actually have to eat... usually just eat dinner (yes I'm bad!).

I have never seen so many people (in my circle) sick - all at the same time. My sister has been coughing and exhausted for over 6 weeks and finally on the 4th visit to the Doc, was told she has walking pneumonia. They finally x-rayed her after all this time. And yes she has taken the pneumonia shot! Her son-in-law has pneumonia also. Not a lot of people wear masks around my area. One of the weirdest things I've heard is a DOXTOR at ER told my sister about an 'old time' cough remedy that 'his mother used for 50 years' - and it's sold in the baking section of the grocery store! It's a liquid sweetener that looks and tastes like maple syrup. She was so desperate and got some and her could has stopped as of yesterday. The bottle says "organic" and I'm assuming it has honey it in. So I'm going to try it myself.

Dragn, hope you get some relief for both issues.

Pneumonia seems to be bad. When we were at the hospital the last time I heard the doctor talking to a patient about it.

I dont have the cough that bad. Hits every now and then. Little M and DS have it bad.

Dd and big d have the sore throats and upset stomach.

Hopefully we won't feel like this much longer.

People at my house were sick with what seemed like a bad cold that went on and on . All tested n3g for covid19. I followed the protocols on the FLCCC website right away. Felt a little tired with a sniffle for 2 days only. I did the iodine nose rinse, the gargle, the vitam8ns and herbs. Steamed myself in 5he shower 3x daily. Went in the sunshine 30 min each day.

Another thing I did was to juice a fresh grapefruit every day and then cut up the peel and simmer it for 30 min and drink the water like a warm tea. Just about ev3ry natural cold remedy has grapefruit in it. If you take it with zinc, it works better.

Thank you everyone for your wisdom and healing.

I did a simmer pot of apples and oranges and cinnamon and had some as a tea and wow that was wonderful.
