Thought it would be fun to start a thread about interesting things we can learn. The old phrase you learn something EVERYday is behind that.
Here is what I just learned at 10:30 a.m. Chicago time today concerning the Red 18oz Solo cup commonly used for parties:

Yep, the lines on the classic cup design aren’t just for aesthetics or grippiness — in an act of kismet, they correspond to common fluid-ounce measurements. If this story ended badly, I wouldn't be in such a good mood now laughing...but I caught the problem quick enough...
My father just came home after running errands and I am home now as well for the night. My little Lhasa Apso - like all dogs -feel the need to greet everyone in the house. Done. Dad was sitting at the kitchen table reviewing mail and I was talking to him. Out of the corner of my eye, I see my dog settle down at his feet busy with something. He's got a lot of toys. No harm. Continued talking for 2 seconds...THEN I realized WHAT he was munching on: my 82 year old dad's upper denture!!! 
I snatched it up as fast as I could and continued to laugh Had my dog had a chance to damage it, I wouldn;t be so amused right now. My dad NEVER takes them out during the day...LEAST of all in the kitchen. I believe he will be thinking twice again as this dog lives here

HOLY CRAP!!!
This March is the 50th anniversary of the beloved musical "Sound of Music." While I KNOW that the films star Julie Andrews lost her ability to sing due to a tragic throat surgery mishap at least a decade ago, the person the Academy found to pay tribute in song to this film was......LADY GAGA!!!
YES. Lady Gaga. Loud, boisterous, clownish rap/rock star actually sang the songs.....and guess what?!? SHE WAS DAMN GOOD!
I got to tell you, the lady that gave us "Poker Face" and all her other pop hits ACTUALLY can sing a beautiful range of notes that were indeed an incredible surprise!!
Stefani - you do NOT need to hide behind all your tattoos, wild hair and slutty outfits! You got pipes girl!!

Ok new polls: Christmas songs you dislike or find annoying
I work at a store who in their infinite wisdom put together a collection of songs and artist renditions that after hearing 25 times, are getting OLD....really OLD.
However my number one annoying song no matter WHO sings it is the 12 Days of Christmas. Too long, too annoying.
