I've read them all. My ex boyfriend read Wizards First Rule when we were 15 and had me read it. So over 17 years later I have all the hard covers and named my dog (who I had to put down almost exactly a year ago...wow...look at the timing) Kahalan.

Oh...and I loved them. The only complaint I've ever had about them was the issues were always resolved in the last 15 pages.

Agreed.

And the further along in the series you get, the more of the book is taken up by explaining things from the first few books. I have to flip throug/skim over a lot.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, another vote for The Way Of Kings!!! What an awesome read! I'm waiting to borrow the next one, Words of Radiance!

If you like those named above, you might also enjoy The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear by Rothfuss.

Sorry for jumping in..needed to get away from my JFO thread.

Really liked the Goodkind series, but never got into the "new" ones he did with the same characters after the series was finished. In general, I could've done without the societal preaching he does as well as the rape, but hey, all in all they were really good.

I will triple on the Rothfuss books. Favorites.

Same with Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series.

And anything by Robin Hobb is excellent.

I happened across Wizards First Rule when I was a teen and started reading it for lack of anything else on hand. That was my first taste of fantasy novels and I've been hooked ever since!!!

I've only read Wizard's First Rule, but I freaking loved it.

And, I know it was not a very close adaptation, but I really liked the Legend of the Seeker TV series.
