Had an appointment with my IC this week and she recommended that I read "Women Who Love Too Much" by Robin Norwood.

I have requested it from my local library and am wondering if anyone has read it before and, if so, did they find it helpful at all?

I read it years ago and it was life-changing for me. Followed up with Melody Beattie Codependent No More.

To me, it was a profound picture of the dynamics that lived inside my head and why I kept trusting and falling for the absolute wrong-est, worst people while avoiding decent, healthy, "nice" men like the plague.

Thank you so much for your response HFSSC.

I just listened to the Codependent No More audiobook last month and that was such an eye-opener for me. I have been working very hard on addressing the codependency.

I read the summary online for Women Who Love Too Much and was struck by how much it sounded like me. I hope that it will be a life-changing book for me, as it was for you!

I also read it many years ago (I'm 15 years from D-day), and like HFSSC said, it was life changing. I saw SOOOOOOOOO much of myself in that book. Definitely worth the read.

I was finally able to get a copy of it from my local library about a week ago. I am just about to start Chapter 8. I have been making notes of everything I have connected with in my journal and have filled up half my journal already. I am seeing myself in almost every page. I am feeling a shift in myself.

I always forget this forum for some reason. Glad I saw this thread again. I am glad you are finding the book as helpful as I did.

I got a free sample of this book (first 40 pages) on my Nook, and I really liked it. I'm going to purchase it for sure.

I am so glad that I borrowed this book from the library and read it. I made a ton of notes from it in my journal and then over the past couple weeks I kept thinking to myself that I really should buy it, so I can have it as a constant reference and make notes in it if I want to.

It arrived in the mail yesterday and I am beyond thrilled!!

Of all the books I have read since d-day this is the one that has helped me to really see, acknowledge and work on the severe codependency that has played a part in my life for as long as I can remember. It has been instrumental in helping me to heal and grow.
