Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a resource with you on how to date after divorce or break-up or whatever.

It's a podcast by a dating coach. It's called Breaking the Dating Code and the coach's name is Loari Edison.

Season 1 is all about getting ready to date and she has just started Season 2, which talks more about HOW to date.

Use the same practice you do here on SI: take from it what you can use and leave what you can't.

There's some valuable lessons on their about values, priorities, living your best life, self-care, unpacking and healing your own bagage, confidence and letting go of timelines.

If you don't have Spotify, you can also find it on Google and Apple Podcasts and even IheartRadio, I think.

ETA: oh, crap, I reread the guidelines and I realize this might be against them. I'm not deleting the post, because thats against the guidelines as well, but I have edited the name and I'll message SI staff so they'll know what to do with this,

Eta2: approved!

Thank you Hedwig!

I am single and facing the dating world for the first time in about 35 years. And, quite frankly, I am terrified of the prospect of having to date again :-(

Going to give that a listen although I am single because I lost my husband early this year to cancer - not divorce or infidelity. But I am hoping it will help anyhow!

Thanks again...

Ah NeverTwice, I am so sorry for your loss.

A lot of people are scared by the prospect of dating while it can be a lot of fun. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Hi Hedwig,

Ah NeverTwice, I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you. He was a good man and I was lucky enough to share life with him for 34 years. And, even while he was dying, he was encouraging me to get out and find someone new. And while I will never find someone who could fill his shoes - I know I can find someone to love in a new and different way.

I just do not know how to date any more!!! Going to listen tonight and will let you know what I think!

Cheers

Thank you!

I've been "purposefully" dating the last 2 years but it resulted in a relationship that ended this month after 10 months.

I feel like I'm still attracting/being attracted to the same kind of man that I'm not wanting.

Can't wait to listen to this after work :)

May 29 2021 ***reclaimed myself and decided to delete my story with my ex because I'm now 7 years free from him and mentally healthier than I've been in years.

Nevertwice, he sounds so lovely *hearteyes* I hope you'll find someone who can at least make you happy, even if it's not the same as your late husband.

twicefooled, I'm learning so much from her. I'm currently not dating, but I can detect red flags in casual encounters with men so much better. Men that show their interest in me and behave in a certain way or men who show interest in other people I know...even in tv-shows! It's a good exercise!
