Anyone here get a second booster or thinking about it?

I'm so torn, received my booster in October. 65 years old with mild asthma, honestly don't know what to do.

Do I get the second booster now? Do I wait until the Fall when there's a vaccine that targets Omnicron specifically? How long will my first booster be relatively effective?

All of my shots were Pfizer.

I'm not until there is a new updated vaccine. Israeli study, who seem to be the most on top of this, shows the protection of a fourth shot only lasts weeks against circulating strains in Dec/Jan. I also picked up chronic urticaria a week after the last booster in December that hasn't fully dissipated yet. I'm also mid 50s so my risk isn't quite as high as yours.

I just got my 2nd booster last week, I chose Moderna after doing all Pfizer previously. No malaise from it this time at all. But the day before, I got my shingles vax and WOWWWWWW that one is a hard hitter, lol.

I'll continue getting boosters as often as the guidance is updated. I really really really really really do not want to risk getting long COVID. (Or, you know, dying.)

I got my 2nd booster 2 days ago; my reaction was milder than the 1st 3 shots, but that's to be expected.

My brother is an expert, in regular contact with Fauci and WHO and CDC staff; he got the booster as soon as it was offered and recommends doing so. I heard an interview with Fauci last night in which he said he thought we might get annual shots.

At 77, with some asthma, a-fib, obesity, high BP if untreated, the decision is pretty easy, but I think I'd make the same decision younger and without the co-morbidities. My brother is pretty smart, and he knows this stuff, so I'll take his advice. (W thinks I'm smarter. )

I'm 71; I got my 4th dose of Pfizer last week and my H gets his this afternoon.
No adverse reactions. IMO, better safe than sorry.
COVID is still circulating, and some family/friends got hit hard this past month with Omicron, even though they are all fully vaccinated (fully as in original two, then 1st booster in December). Our age group is in the 4th dose recommended age group - 60+

Thanks for starting this thread. It motivated me to schedule my second booster, which I am getting tonight, as is H.

Our D is having a baby in mid-June, and we will be staying with them for 2-3 weeks. Since the baby won't be able to be vaccinated, we will get it to protect him, although I suspect he will temporarily have some immunities from our daughter from pregnancy, then breastfeeding.

I have gotten my previous three vaccines on a Friday night, so that if I get sick, I'll have the weekend to recover. But I never really had anything other than a sore arm, so I'm getting this one on a weekday. Now watch me eat my words!!

We are also traveling across country on a plane next week, so I will appreciate the protection from the extra booster. I am aware that getting the vaccine doesn't provide 100% protection, but I'd feel absolutely horrible if I didn't get the booster, got COVID, was asymptomatic, and passed it along to D (or anyone else) without knowing I even had it.

FWIW, I am getting the same one I've gotten before... Pfizer. I got my first booster in early November 2021.

Me too. It was easy and convenient, no reaction. I got Moderna, same as my first 3 but if I had thought about it, I'd have switched to Pfizer.

I got mine yesterday. I'm reacting like I have with all of them - tired, achy and a fever. The 2nd one was by far the worst, though.

Is one better than the other? All mine have been Moderna.

I think the issue of Moderna vs Pfizer is that if you've had one type it MIGHT be beneficial to get the different one. I'm not sure if there is any scientific proof of this.

My husband got his 4th today. He's achy and grouchy with a sore arm. He had a mild reaction to #2 and now this. A naproxen is helping.

I had Pfizer for the first two rounds, but Moderna for both boosters. I didn't really notice a difference between the two, as far as reactions went.

The day it was mentioned on the news I called our local pharmacist and the gov/cdc had not opened approval yet but we got a prescription faxed by our dr and h and I got it the same day, whenever that was.
Every time they provide we will do.
Also, after watching a friend of mine get a horrible case of shingles on her face and head my h and I started the two shots. We are up to date in everything they offer including another DPT shot. Dr said they do not last a life time. I also got another German measles shot.

H got booster #2 on Friday. Within ten hours, he was feeling like crap - tired, achy and chills. By the time he woke up Saturday morning, he was 90% back to normal. Glad we're boosted!

I caught COVID, just getting over it now - it is probably the omicron variant. Other than it being my worst illness in nearly 30 years, it was do able. I could breath and didn’t feel at risk. Just utterly miserable and somewhat angry.

I have 2 vaccines and one booster.

I don’t want it again and would get boosted to avoid how sick I felt.

I had it in January and it was definitely Omicron.
My job has a Covid monitoring program, so I was calling patients with covid and walking them through it, while in fact having covid. LOL.

I rec'd monoclonal antibodies due to my complex autoimmune issues. Can't/Shouldn't get a vax for 90 days after. So I'm up on that button now, and leery about getting it, because I didn't react well to the last shot, and know I have some natural immunity, and so far this Corona virus is following the typical path of Corona viruses, meaning they become more contagious but less virulent. I will most likely get one later this month, after vacation, before a minor outpatient procedure. And before my Grand comes in July.

Our numbers are still way down, although the past few weeks we have seen a minor tick up, but people aren't nearly as sick, and the ones being hospitalized this go round are either super unhealthy, or unvax'd. So bonus.

Anyway hope all of you that havev it or its lingering effects are feeling good soon.

Moderna just announce they will likely have a Omnicron specific vaccine in the fall. I'm likely to wait for that one for my 4th or go with the J&J one. I'm still within six months from my first booster till the middle of next month.

I am in Ontario, omicron variant is flying through the population. It is unbelievable.

Hey, everyone, Got my second booster this morning.

First three shots no real reaction except sore arm.

About four hours after the booster, I was out taking a short walk, and weakness set in. Wasn't sure I'd make it home.

For some reason I got very hungry so I ate crackers with peanut butter. I thought I was going to pass out for a few minutes there, but not too long after I felt much better. No fever, no achiness, just that short spell of weakness with a bit of tingling in my extremities.

Hope this is the last dose until the Omicron. Like everyone else, I'm so done with all of this. Ugh.......
