Has anybody tried one or know anybody that has?
DD spends a lot of time outside in the winter where it can get very cold. She asked for one for Christmas. I was wondering if anybody could recommend something.
Thank you!!!

My H has a Milwaukee brand heated jacket. He loves his! He has arthritis in his back plus some surgeries and the heat helps with all that. Amazon may be a good place to look for one.

I got a DeWalt heated vest as a present a few years back. TBH, even though I'm perpetually cold, I only ever used it on the day I got it.
It worked very well, but I found the battery pack annoying.

One time I had a job decorating for the holidays at a big hotel resort. It was so cold at night outside on the doorways of gift shops or restaurant entrances that I put Christmas tree light strings between my overall bib and sweatshirt to keep warm. Loved that job and the florists I worked with. We laughed all night. The hotel managers were so good to us and we got to be in those lovely rooms. The day staff would borrow the trees, drag them down the halls into the elevators, set them up for parties then drag them back again. We were always having to fix them up again. Guests pinched the ornaments too. We worked so hard to make everything unique and pretty. I would have loved a heated vest while hanging wreaths outside at 3 am.
Thank you everyone for your wisdom and healing.

I had never heard of a heated vest before this post and this morning my top of the page banner ad was for heated vests!

Did the add offer anything helpful?
I'm paralyzed with indecisiveness. I think I have one picked out and then I read the reviews and Sally convinces me otherwise.
I would have loved to have one years ago when I sat outside and froze watching DD's activities.

Have you thought about going to an outdoor store, like REI or Bass Pro Shops? If they don't carry them, someone who works there might have a recommendation for one since a lot of their employees are avid outdoors people, year-round.

I live in a rural area. Nothing like that within a reasonable driving distance. Good suggestion though, thanks!!

Sorry, I did’t check out the ad and it hasn’t reappeared yet. Something to consider is a jacket or vest like Columbia Sportswear Omni heat. They look like a lightweight winter coat but it’s lined with a silver material that radiates your body heat back at you. Warmest coat my H has ever worn and I’m looking for one on sale. My kids who do outdoor sports swear by the pocket heaters that look like a power brick and charge with a usb cord to keep their hands warm. I just saw heated scarves online that used a power pack inside the scarf to heat the wires around your neck. The reviews convinced me not to bother with that. Good luck and happy shopping.
