Did you sell your wedding ring?
If so, where and how?

I sold my ring back to the jeweler who made it. I was married 24 years but threw out the first ring ( he retrieved it, we gave it to his brother) the first time I caught him cheating. Apparently on the second ring the stones were scuffed and I only got 1/3 of the price back but that was still better than a pawn shop. I took the proceeds and joined a penya and went to watch a Barcelona game in Spain. Visça Barça!
Let this be the lose weight kind of stress not the gain weight kind.

I put my ring in a safe on Dday#2 or just after. I haven't touched it since. Funny thing is, I wore it constantly for our entire marriage until it cracked and I had been asking my W to get it fixed for me. She procrastinated for ages, only getting it repaired and giving it to me while she was knee deep in her infidelity. You will never meet a more tone deaf woman.
I'm an oulier in my positions.
Me:57 STBXWW:55 DD#1: false confession of EA Dec. 2016. False R for a year.DD#2: confessed to year long PA Dec. 2 2017 (was about to be outed)Called it off and filed. Denied having an affair in court papers.

I sold my ring for the gold value. Bought groceries for a few weeks. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough.😁

I threw my ring in the ocean at a place called 'Finestere' which means 'end of the world'. It was the most difficult I did and in a way the most beautiful thing I did for me. It was my way of saying 'I let you go'.

Somehow, both of my wedding rings are now in the possession of my wife, albeit in very different circumstances.
My first wedding was in 1996 and we bought a plain gold band for about $100 for me. I had always planned on throwing it into the Mississippi River but that never happened.
My second wedding (the one that brought me to SI) was in 2003. This was a platinum ring.
My third wedding was in December 2022. For that wedding, we went to a department store and bought me a wedding band on clearance about 2 hours before the ceremony; my wife went without a wedding ring for the actual ceremony.
After wedding#3, wife#3 decided to go to a jeweler and to have a custom wedding made for herself. To save on money, she literally used my first wedding band as raw material. In the 20+ years since getting married, the value of the gold was now like $300. She already had a diamond or fake diamond. So, anyway, my original wedding band from marriage#1 is now part of wife#3's wedding band.
Apparently, there is no good way to melt platinum and to re-use. The jeweler suggested that we just sell it on the used market. Wife#3 kept it... I think that she plans on giving it to one of my daughters. I don't know why. I'll probably intervene and get that wedding band back at some point.
Me: Crap, I'm 50 years old. D-Day: August 30, 2016. Two years of false reconciliation. Divorce final: Feb 1, 2021. Re-married: December 3, 2022.
