We got 6" of snow on Friday. Today I saw my first Daffodils of the year.
I think this is the earliest I have ever seen them bloom.
Currently sitting in my great room with the door open and smelling spring in the air. There are no freezing Temps in the 14 day forecast. December and January were brutal late and early respectively but I can deal with it if that rodent was right.

I always rejoice in seeing Forsythia bloom. That's when I know winter is done.

Tushnurse, I have daffodils 'trying' to bloom and my front yard has some green grass sprouts. So ready for it!

This is some very strange weather we are having. Everyone should be on the alert for possible severe weather, including possible tornados. The weather is building up to this possibility. Topeka, Kansas and St. Louis and all points south - be AWARE for the next couple of days.

A trifle windy and 71F today here in Baja 'Zona, following several days of 79 to 83 just South of Tucson in.. My pansies, petunias antirrhinum and violas are in their third month of full bloom. Meanwhile the sweet peas, hollyhocks, fox gloves and cosmos I sowed into prepared seed beds last Ocober are getting taller by the day. Best of all though; this wet and warm Spring is doing wonders for native wildflowers..red salvia, which attract hummingbirds to their tubular blossoms have created swathes of red in desert arroyos and wild orange mallow seem to be everywhere.

Well, the temps will drop after tomorrow, but the precipitation that is supposed to fall tomorrow is rain. Luckily it clears out before the temperatures drop.

My family knows that in the spring I often spend inordinate amounts of time watching The Weather Channel. Turned it on tonight for the first time in weeks to see what's going on int he Midwest. I think it's safe to say parts of the Midwest are going to get hammered tonight. I really hope there's no serious damage, meaning tornadoes.

80 degrees today. Supposed to drop down in the low 20's tonight. Crazy. And speaking of crazy -- my Pear trees are bloomed out already. Good grief. They think it's spring.

Yah here in the Lou it has been crazy warm. Daffodils blooming forsythia budding.
In the Midwest the forsythia bloom is a sure sign winter is over. The Daffodils can bloom early and it can change to cold and nasty and the forsythia won't bloom if that's going to happen. But we are supposed to have a front and cold in the 20s tonight and tomorrow. But rebounds quickly.
As someone who suffers from SAD I love an early spring. I will always rejoice in early warmth. Winter is awful. I hate it. We spring forward in a week. The longer days and added sunshine makes a huge difference to me.

We've had rain and thunderstorms and warm weather. Tomorrow it's back to snow. So much so there's a chance school buses might be cancelled. Just crazy swings in temps. I'm totally done with the cold.

Ok is Mother Nature in a mood or something.

Buses were cancelled yesterday due to icy roads.

Flurries began in the afternoon and through the night. Its a winter wonderland again.

Oh and cold. So bitter cold.

Just cold icy rain here - with temps in the 30's. No ice on the roads though, thank goodness. My pear trees are fully bloomed with white buds.

I think .. spring is coming and I'm so ready for it!

Yes, it's concerning. Here in Texas, it was in the mid-90s on Monday. shocked It got cold again for a couple of days, and now we're going to be in the 70s and 80s for the next couple of weeks. About 10 degrees too high.

I'm in insurance. Climate change is driving enormous premium increases due to more frequent and severe weather events. The actuaries have been warning about it for a while, and now it's happening.
