I feel like cheating is so commonplace now that pursuing relationships is ultimately pointless.

Anyone else feel this way?

Right after dday1 and 2, I entered a phase of no more relationships. Now, I'm having so much fun on my own that I really don't care if I have another intimate relationship. I'm making new friend relationships and building on my relationship with my children and grandchildren.

Any intimate partner relationship would need to build on these relationships and enhance my life. If that doesn't happen, I'm fine being without a partner.

IMHO, if you're getting out of a relationship, it's important to heal and recover before seeking a new partner.

I’m struggling with getting excited about starting a new relationship. Maybe I haven’t truly healed, maybe it’s just too hard with young children, maybe I’ve discovered that no relationship is better than the wrong relationship…..I’m not sure. I just don’t have the drive to go out and meet people at the moment, as nice and sweet as some of the people I have met are.

I do worry that the pointless / hopeless feeling is a sign of depression. Hope (and perhaps false hope) kept me going for a long time. Now that is fading and what is left is…nothing.

Gently, you deleted all of your messages on your first post. Why?
