Internet algorithms think they need to send me pics of "tablescapes" and they are stunning!! What people can do "setting a table" is phenomenal.

We have white open stock dishes and plain glasses. I now have table envy.

Does anyone else "set a table" for everyday or holidays. Any fancy napkin folders in the group? That’s impressive to watch too wow!

I use to work in a cloth napkin restaurant, so there are a couple of folds I can do in a pinch.

While I can enjoy looking at the beautiful tables, I don't feel the need to recreate.

Funny about the Christmas table. I've wanted special Christmas dishes for years. I found some I liked at a dollar store and spent about $50 for a set for 12, including the fancy goblets to match.

Now, we go to my son's place (He's the only one with kids right now.) I pick up paper plates for ease of clean up and we can make a quick exit if somebody has a meltdown.

If you have room and the money, make yourself happy. It's good for your mental well-being, so consider it self-care. After what you've been through and your current health situation, be kind to you.

I set my tables for Christmas. Plain white plates and paper placemats but cloth napkins and festive glasses with some type of table centerpiece.

I used to have Spode china (a gift) but I donated it a few years ago. It took up too much space and it was pretty to look at but used for a very short time.

I love holiday decorations and have to stop myself from buying more lol.

The space issue is real :) firstwife

I realized Leahfields that I enjoy beautiful things. Art in everyday life. That can be dollar store china which people in the group that popped up in my feed rave about btw or homemade paper cranes or old mix matched dishes.

I think we are going to do a few of the paper cranes off of the Christmas tree tossed on the table, a candle, and maybe some dessert plates or a couple serving dishes.

To me it’s joy seeping back through the cracks!

I personally have my Husband's Geandmas Currier and Ives grocery/gas station set. I've been fortunate enough to add odd pieces including gravy boats to casseroles to salt and pepper shakers to this collection. It's not rare and certainly not worh much. But to me it brings great joy to see my kids and their kid eating off of all of it just like she and her large family of siblings did. I HOPE my kids will appreciate this when I split the set and yes I'm cookoo enough to buy duplicates of the rarer items so they each get a full set later in life

We are not even bothering with Christmas this year. My mother having been in the hospital for 12 weeks and now at the retirement home has just zapped all of our energy. There has been no time for anything else.

My H and I are having a prime rib tomorrow night for dinner, just the 2 of us. On Xmas day, we'll go to the retirement home and have dinner with my mom there. Hopefully they'll be having turkey and trimmings. If not, oh well.
