I found a jar of vodka in the back of the fridge that I started infusing with pineapple over the holidays and then forgot about. I've added a little Patron citronge and fresh lime juice, and now BH and I are kicking off our Oscar nominations watchlist with "The Power of the Dog."

What is everybody up to?

I just got changed into my pjs and will be relaxing the rest of the evening.

Day started out shitty with wh NOT plowing the driveway after a fucking huge dumping of snow and getting his van stuck. He actually drove UP onto the snowdrift so no matter how many times he told me to rock it back and forth it wasn't going to work. Front tires weren't on the damn ground! He was a total asshole. Like big time. His damn fault. He kept apologizing between outbursts saying he wasn't mad AT me. Ya ok, buddy.

We waited until the sun came up enough to see then used the tractor to pull him out. He then PLOWED the driveway and went to work.

Buses were canceled yesterday and today so I had the kids. Once wh got home I went to do shopping. One intersection in town was awful. Vehicles were sliding and tires spinning. The damn plow was behind me and when it was my turn to try to get through I was like hey dude just push me lol. But I wiggled the steering and got a grip and made it past before the light turned red.

Came home and had some baby goat snuggles. She runs around following the kids. Its so cute!

I was thinking of fears before.

I drive with thr visor doen even when its dark. Its a fear I have with something flying through the windshield. I think it stems from the thing going through thr window on the movie Twister. Not that thr visor woukd save me in that situation but its a comfort thing i guess.

Anyone else snowed in today?

They said we only got 6-12 inches of snow but it's the blowing wind that's the problem. Blizzard-like conditions and drifts up to my waist.

Having a bit of weather whiplash here.

Saturday was so cold and windy you could barely stand to be outside.

Today was sunny and in the sixties. I went for a run without a jacket!!

You can infuse it with pretty much anything! If you don't like vodka, you can do it with other alcohols, too. I infused whiskey with apples and cinnamon over the holidays and tequila with grapefruit last summer.

I'm not a fan of spice, but I did habanero peppers in scotch for a friend and she loved it. If you do this, don't let it sit too long! It's one thing to forget about pineapple for weeks, but really hot peppers should only go an hour before you do a taste test. You can always leave it longer if it's too mild for you.

This has been a terrible winter thus far. So much snow. Ok ok my father would say not as much as when he was a kid but omg....when the snow drifts are up to my hips thats TO MUCH!!!

Granted I hate ice more and now we are getting hit with it. I can't afford the amount of salt I need for the entire driveway! But....a flame thrower would soooo work and I plan on getting one hehehe.

Alrighty it is time for me to dive into the world of infused alcohol. Lol

Our forest is NO where near the driveway. It's behind the house past an open field lol

Oh. Something thats totally embarrassing. I was walking down the driveway a few months back when I noticed a car drive by with a mounted camera. Friggin google maps car. Ya guess who is forever plastered on the internet???!!! Yep me! Ugh! Dammit they should to be required to blur out people!!!

Milk chocolate fan. Went to a chocolate convention once In Portland and they had about 60 booths. Ended up with a sack full of freebies. grin But still the best is at a small French chocolate shop in Milwaukie, OR called Enchante.

What's on my mind is why does JC Penny's line of clothing for older women called Sag Harbor? Seems insulting.

I once went to a midnight chocolate buffet on a cruise. It was delicious and many choices. If I wasn't so tired, I probably would have gotten more chocolate.

My mind is going in many directions. I took the day off from work and now my mind is trying to get prepared to go back to work..... I really want to stay home some more. I picked up my kids from their dad's house this evening and I have surprisingly missed them a lot. I'm watching a Hallmark movie and it's a bit cheesy but it makes me miss not having a relationship

Oh man you guys get all the cool stuff. I've never heard of a chocolate convention!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Sometimes a good cheesy movie helps.

Snow day number three. Six days total the kids got off school.

Does anyone else dislike rude awakenings? Like your dozing off to sleep and the driveway alarm goes off. Or your kid screams bloody murder OR you feel something jump on you???

The latter happened last night. One of my female sugar gliders got OUT OF THE CAGE. Luckily I couldn't sleep so I turned on my phone flashlight, scooped her up and put her back into the cage then zap strapped the sides where I thought maybe she got out. Half an hour later....she's back out.

Wh was not impressed. Both times I had jumped and woken him up. This time he helps me take down the cage from the shelving unit and discover the far door for the food dish is unlocked. rolleyes

I then remain awake, sitting cross-legged on the bed with my flashlight ready. Every time they came out of their box I watched closely to see if there were anymore escapes. By 1am I was headbobnibg and figured if she hadn't gotten out by then I was good to go back to sleep.

I'm just happy it was one of the girls and not my mature male...he bites. AND glad it was a sugar glider and not a tarantula lmao laugh

Drgn, you have tarantulas? Yikes and cool at the same time.

Sugar gliders are so cute, my kids would be jealous. They've been angling for an axolotl for quite a while now... I'm actually considering getting one for my DD's bday. She is a major animal lover and would totally geek out with the menagerie you've got.

I'm not too keen on the axolotl thing. Me and aquariums don't mix. DS got a crayfish off the 3rd grade lottery one year. They studied them in class and had a whole tank full of them. Kids got to take them home for good at Christmas break. I said yes, he really wanted one, and I think crayfish are really kinda cool. Anyway, DS got the crayfish and DD was jealous, so we bought her 2 $0.25 gold fish. One of the goldfish had her fin ripped off and was mauled by Charlene the crayfish. DD was pretty traumatized (I was too!), but the fish lived. Looked like Nemo with the "lucky fin."

Goldfish outlived the crayfish and were doing fine... until I killed them shocked . One night, home alone, balancing kids, HW, dinner, laundry and WORK, I saw the fish tank needed a topping off. Turned on the water from the laundry room sink while I switched the loads. Got distracted by cooking dinner (kid also asked me something?) and forgot the water was on... until DS comes up from the basement and asks me if it's supposed to be flooding in Dad's work room. SOOOO... no, it's not. Definitely not supposed to be raining in the basement.

It's the area under the laundry room where I had left the sink running. WATER EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

Anyway, went upstairs to assess the horror my ADHD had inflicted upon the fish and the house. The tank is overflowing with HOT water and the fish are cooked. Belly up, starting to poach cooked. We all three were VERY traumatized. I actually liked the fish at that point and would talk to them every morning before going in to work (pre-COVID). That's nothing though on the level of AWFUL my daughter felt.

The fish would have been ok if the water had been lukewarm like I had originally set it. The hose moved and knocked it to hot and sooooo... between my COMPLETE BRAIN FART and the hot water... I killed my baby girl's fish.

I'm really not looking forward to my next negligent manslaughter of one of my children's pets. sad

How about any of you? Anyone here accidently traumatize your kids?

They generally blur out faces automatically. Pull yourself up in google maps. Click on report a problem at the bottom of the page. Check the appropriate selection under "Request Blurring". You can request your face and house to be blurred so I would expect you can request your entire body also.

Ours is still going, but I've taken to ordering stuff online because the selection is better. I'm also just too lazy to wander around trying to find dress pants. I generally do get there a time or two during xmas shopping season.
