Dear SI friends,
I made it to my favourite winter getaway destination after all! Annual beach pic returns tomorrow. My dear DIL has accompanied me; SMY had to stay home, not only due to some health issues, but he didn't want to be apart from our three fur babies.
Our sweet old Max's health has declined significantly in the last few days; I knew his time was near, but H has held on to hope. H says that Max misses his Mommy and is determined that he'll hang on until I get home on Thursday. I can only pray that is so. But I reminded H that we can't be selfish; what Max needs is top priority.
So, please send SMY and Max your love. Max has helped H get through so much in the past 14+ years. My heart is breaking for them. SMY found a soaking wet kitten about 3 months old in our driveway back in 2008 and they formed an immediate bond. They are best buds!

Love and prayers sent! I hope that Max makes it as comfortably as possible until you get home. The goodbyes always are harder and come sooner than we are ready for, but what an honor to have been "his people". 馃惥 鉂わ笍

Hang in the Max, SMY and LF I know the loss weighs heavy on our hearts before, and after it happens, knowing when the time is right, and saying that final goodbye.
I hope Max rallies for a bit.
Sending positive thoughts, energy, and wishes and prayers your way.

..I wish to thank you, my dear Si friends for your kind words and compassion for our looming loss of our dear cat, Max. You can probably tell from the pic that we were best of friends. He is a loyal and trusted companion. Those kind of 'friends' are hard to come by...trust me, I know!!! Any time you can walk around the house with your cat on your shoulder requires a great deal of mutual trust.
I have been blessed with several cats over the 50 years we've been married. I just hope I'll be around for a few more in my life.
My MiniMax was special indeed...
Stay safe people..smy

I'm so sorry about your loss. I too had a great cat growing up (Chloe) who was my best buddy in middle school through college. I miss that cat still. I imagine you're going to miss her always. The more we miss those who are gone, the more love there was shared. I'm glad you had the chance to have a feline bestie and sad that you're now mourning her loss.
