OMG Y'all! Cards in the mail today! I am SOSOSOSOSOSOSO happy! And I have a confession: I messed up. This is my first time participating and somehow I missed how to send cards. I signed up and then thought I'd get instructions, and when I didn't, I figured I must have not signed up right. And I was so surprised, overjoyed, and incredibly guilty when I got masses of mail today. Thank you ALL! Next year, I will do better!

Happy holidays!

Ooohhh!!!! Cards today!!! So exciting. When do we open them??

Also loving the “Not Kid Friendly” comment on front of one envelope 🤣🤣

Ditto @learningtofeel. So happy to get them but feel so guilty for forgetting myself as well

Cards in Virginia today! And I'm making a list and checking it twice for some of you. Just saying. Once I get all the cards I'll post my SI tree, which is looking beautiful this year. It's joined by the recently dubbed Tinsel the rescue Poinsettia.

I love all of the cards, this is my first year participating and it’s been so exciting to open them and see all the glitter and creativity! Thank you all 😊

I bought a super cute Christmas card holder that I wanted to display them on but it won’t arrive until after Christmas!! (BOOOOOO!) I guess at least I’ll have it here for future years so I can display all the lovely SI cards.

Last time I participated, I got most of them all at once in a nice little bundle. Yesterday I just got the one from BraveSirRobin and TimeSpiral. I had no idea it was SI related, so I just full on opened it without caution, and ended up with a ginormous glitter explosion in my office.

Should have known better...

Still makin' those rookie mistakes, huh Losfer?

I'm just so excited people are starting to receive them - more moments of joy more better.

With all the glitter that I'm told exploded out of them along the way, I'm surprised there was any left 😂

And who on earth sent a padded envelope???

That would be us. I inherited a tote box full of old stamps and decided to make use of the free postage.

I'm relieved they made it, because the postal distribution centers around here are so packed that they've told us to pretty much forget about getting parcels delivered in time for Christmas!

TX1995 and lieshurt: Show off-y Texas folks....

You never know with 2020. I had a package from Old Navy that went from Nevada, to California, to a town 15 minutes from my house in Texas, then to Atlanta (?), and then here. Took about 3 weeks total. Those poor postal workers this year really have their jobs cut out for them! I'm glad cards and glitter are showing up in boxes all over now.

Here's the tree so far. I'm certain there will be a few more, and I might post an update if I figure out how to not make the picture enormous.

ETA: OK, that isn't so bad. It was huge in the preview mode!

Very nice pic, Tred. You have received more than I have to date and I see my card arrived.

I also didn't get any "padded" envelope yet either.... Looks like BSR has something special again this year.

Yay Tred you got mine too! I know at least a couple people got mine... I was a tad worried about not having enough postage so I'm relieved!

DD and DS have been chuckling along as we open these with a process somewhat akin to dismantling a bomb(!)

I love them and am so thankful to count so many friends here on SI!!!

Omg, it's soo nice to see all you getting them. Tred, I was scanning your picture to see if you've received mine but no luck so far!

Mine haven't arrived yet. I have already checked my mailbox twice as much as usual, but I think the checking will only increase in the next couple of days. SO EXCITEEDDD

Holy crap your weren’t joking about the glitter.

After the first year, I was very careful about how to open the cards. I lay out newspaper on the table and have a bowl that I empty glitter into. I wear latex gloves and I use a paint brush to brush the glitter from the cards. I also use some static guard to keep the glitter from sticking. I then use a funnel to empty the glitter into a clear plastic ornament. I write the year on it in gold marker and attach some ribbon.

No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.
